Vintage Fabric Brooch No.4

Here is my latest brooch made using some toile de jouy with a frill of vintage handmade lace. On top I have stitched a heart in a Cath Kidston stripe with a smaller heart of vintage french linen and a little bit of vintage embroidery from an old doily at the bottom. The tail is made from wide satin ribbon with pink ribbons and pearly buttons and pearly beads to finish off.
All my brooches are individual and hand stitched. This one is 13.5 cms long overall. Please click on the photo to enlarge and take a closer look.

Vintage Fabric Brooches

This little brooch is 14 cm long to the end of the little felt hearts. It is made with some vintage embroidered cream fabric which is very fine and may have been intended for a wedding dress a long time ago. On top of that is a heart of cotton provencal print and a little cream cotton heart. I have added some pretty little beads in the colours of the print and a little pearly button. The tail is of black silk velvet and two fine ribbons with felt hearts at the ends.

Vintage Fabric Brooches

This brooch is made using some fine cotton fabric, together with a piece of vintage pink ribbon.
On top of that there are two french linen hearts and a little blue ginham heart and ribbon. Finished with a little white lace. All totally hand stitched with pretty little silver blue beads to finish it off. The back has a felt pad and a brooch pin.

Vintage Fabric Brooches

This little brooch is all handmade using vintage fabrics. Overall it is 11.5cm long. Firstly we have a piece of fine embroidered vintage cotton with a layer of broderie anglaise on top. Then there is a heart of a cotton provencal print and top of that a little piece of french linen. I have finished it off with some pretty little beads to catch the light and a tail of black silk velvet. The back is finished with piece of felt and a brooch pin.

Vintage Floral Fabric Hanging Heart

Perhaps this would look pretty hanging on your brass and iron bed too!! This is a pretty hanging heart made from some vintage french floral fabric I bought at an antiques market.

The back is made from a piece of traditional provencal print cotton, reclaimed from an old doily I bought. It is stuffed with a soft polyester filling and has a little pink felt heart with a vintage cotton covered button where the gold ribbon is attached.

Pretty Vintage French Linen Purse

This pretty purse is made from a vintage french red floral linen, I love this fabric which I bought at a local antiques market. It is lined with a red and off white striped fabric.

The purse has a little felt appliqué heart with a blue/green button. The little stuffed heart is made from a piece of vintage french linen taken from an old dowry sheet. This is hand stitched and finished with a pearly button for extra prettiness. The purse closes with a snap fastner.

Rosy Red Gingham Purse

This little purse is made with a rosy red gingham fabric and is lined with a piece of white vintage linen, taken from a french dowry sheet. I have applied two little pink felt hearts with a vintage cotton covered button. Also there is a handed stitched felt heart, white on one side pink on the other with a pearly button. It has a snap fastner to keep it closed.

Hanging Heart

This is a pretty red hanging heart. This one is all hand stitched as it is made of a knitted fabric. I have used some scraps of vintage french fabric for the appliqué hearts, where the ribbon joins the heart there is a little felt heart with a red gingham button. There is a piece of dark grey ribbon to hang it by. This one is stuffed with a soft polyester filling.

This pretty tablecloth measures 123cm x 162cm. It is made from a piece of vintage french floral cotton. Why not add some french shabby chicness to your table.
